Guided Plant and Mushroom Walks

Join us for a herbalist-led stroll through the lush forests of Mayne Island, where you’ll discover the abundant wild food and medicinal plants that thrive on the Gulf Islands. This guided walk offers a hands-on opportunity to learn how to identify and use a variety of edible and medicinal species, including plants and mushrooms, all while gaining practical foraging skills. Along the way, your experienced herbalist guide will share sustainable and ethical foraging practices to ensure we honor the land and its resources. Whether you're looking for a unique island experience, a deeper connection to nature, or the tools to forage with confidence, this walk is for you!

Walks take place on Mayne Island B.C, and are approximately 2 hours

Need to know

This walk is suitable for foragers of all ages and abilities, and is a great tour for kids, nature nerds, plant lovers and those looking to start their journey with herbalism

​Walking is done mainly on forest paths with some uneven surfaces.

Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Please note this is an identification only trip (no harvesting)

A minimum of 5 people are required

Spring and Summer

Focus on flowers, shoots, edible trees, berries and leaves.
Late Summer to Early winter

Focus on mushrooms, roots, & berries
